Meet Scarlett
Scarlett is a spunky six month old who already shows her big personality and loves snuggles. Her start into the world was a bit rocky, as she immediately went to the NICU where she spent five days until she was allowed to go home.
At three months, Scarlett was diagnosed with Plagiocephaly, a condition that causes a baby’s skull to become flattened in one area, and Torticollis, a stiff neck that makes it hard or painful to turn the head. Her parents diligently performed the recommended exercises to improve her condition. They also took her to physical therapy and worked with medical professionals on repositioning. Despite their efforts, Scarlett’s condition did not improve after two months. A custom helmet was recommended to correct her cranial anomaly.
Without the helmet her head shape would be noticeably different from her peers so her family approached the Love Fund for assistance. Thanks to Love Fund supporters, Scarlett was able to receive this non-invasive treatment that will correct her skull and help her avoid potential complications associated with skull asymmetry. Now Scarlett is looking super cute in her new custom helmet!
